About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Rotational Physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to work across various critical care, ward settings, and outpatient clinics, providing specialist physiotherapy services in respiratory medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and paediatric respiratory and surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Band 5 rotational scheme, working across the Trust in a range of critical care, ward settings, and outpatient clinics.
  • Provide a specialist physiotherapy service in respiratory medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and paediatric respiratory and surgical services.
  • Independently perform physiotherapeutic assessments of patients with diverse presentations, providing diagnoses and delivering individualized treatment programs.
  • Manage own patient caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service or a particular patient type, working with direct supervision.
  • Supervise, educate, and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and therapy assistants.
  • Undertake evidence-based audit, formulate guidelines, and research projects under the supervision of direct line managers to further own and departmental clinical practice within each rotation.
  • Use evidence-based principles and current best practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Consolidate and develop knowledge and skills through participation in continuous professional development (CPD).
Person Specification
  • BSc Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Evidence of Health and Care Professions Council State registration.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (desirable).
  • Postgraduate experience working as a Physiotherapist (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Clinical and theoretical knowledge and experience of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others.
  • Able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
