About the Role

Zodiac Maritime is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartering Manager to join our commercial team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the employment of our fleet of approximately 55 containers, working closely with the Head of Chartering (Dry Cargo) to achieve the most profitable and efficient employment of the fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute commercial strategies to optimize fleet employment, leveraging market analysis and insights to create commercial advantage.
  • Chartering Activities: Responsible for all time and voyage chartering activities, including successful negotiation and conclusion of spot market fixtures, period time charters, and contracts of affreightment.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key charterers and joint venture parties, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and developments, reporting to and strategizing with Executive Management to optimize commercial strategy.
  • Documentation: Astute drafting and reviewing of Charter Parties and other fixture-related documentation, ensuring compliance with commercial guidelines and regulations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports and analysis of fixture results, including comparisons of voyage estimates against final results.
Requirements
  • Experience: Successful background and demonstrated experience in shipping (Chartering and Operations), with in-depth knowledge of Container market segments.
  • Education: Relevant education and qualifications in a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and numerical skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Commercial Aptitude: Strong commercial aptitude and ability to support decisions with sound reasoning and judgment.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated, focused, and driven to achieve results, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
