University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust seeks a dedicated and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy services within the Surgery Care Group.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to contribute to a high-performing multidisciplinary team, providing exceptional patient care in a major trauma centre renowned for its tertiary surgical expertise.

Your Role:

  • Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and well-being.
  • Act as an advanced specialist pharmacist, leveraging your expertise to optimize medication therapy within surgical settings.
  • Mentor and guide a team of skilled pharmacists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Champion safe medication practices and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in research and evidence-based practice to advance the field of clinical pharmacy.

Your Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • Masters's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Non-medical Prescriber qualification

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Membership of UKCPA
  • Postgraduate Leadership Qualification
  • Postgraduate Qualification in a Surgical Specialty

  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practice, particularly within surgical settings.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in budget management and staff supervision.
  • Advanced clinical practitioner experience.
  • Proven track record as a non-medical prescriber.
