Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Building Surveyor to join our team at Eden Brown. As a key member of our Capital Programmes Team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of projects for multiple properties and estates.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake feasibility studies and stock condition surveys to identify potential remedial works.
  • Prepare specifications and schedules of works for possible remedial works, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on expenditure and performance of capital budgets, maintaining accurate financial and statistical records.
  • Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure effective and efficient delivery of work and contracts.
  • Prepare and present regular progress and performance reports following monthly contract meetings.
  • Deal with customer complaints and undertake necessary actions to resolve issues.
  • Assist in identifying properties and schemes requiring future planned maintenance programmes, including carrying out stock condition surveys.
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections of void properties, preparing detailed schedules of works for contractors and obtaining necessary quotations.
  • Conduct surveys of specialist projects and works, compiling information to assist with the preparation of specifications and other contract documents.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and respond quickly to actions arising from the Council's legal obligations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in building surveying and project coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
