Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and growth of Arena Racing Corporation. This includes managing the company's capital budgets, debt, and working capital position, as well as providing strategic and financial guidance to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and control the annual operating budget to ensure all financial targets are met and statutory regulations are complied with.
- Provide strategic and financial guidelines to ensure the company's financial commitments are met.
- Work with the Executive Director and senior commercial team to contribute to the development of the company's strategy, challenging assumptions and providing analytical feedback to support sound decision-making.
- Act as a conduit between racing, operations, and finance to ensure maximum benefit is achieved through race planning and financial investment in the racing product.
- Oversee the financial management and reporting of race day functions, including pre-raceday forecasts and post-raceday results, providing detailed explanations for variances to plan.
- Instigate and manage recovery plans to address underperformance.
- Take overall control of the accounting systems and ensure they are robust, compliant, and that all necessary policies and procedures are in place to maintain effective financial management.
- Oversee the preparation of the company's financial accounts, ensuring they are presented accurately and on time with full supporting data.
- Work with internal and external audit representatives to develop a sound internal audit procedure to comply with all financial procedures and regulations.
- Carry out all necessary actions to ensure the company meets its financial and legal obligations, including requirements of all statutory bodies.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the company's cash management policies.
- Oversee the preparation of weekly and monthly financial reporting processes and prepare accurate and timely board reports on areas such as capital development and management accounting.
