Financial Analyst

RM Recruit is seeking a skilled Financial Assistant/Management Accountant to join a dynamic not-for-profit organisation in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. This is a full-time, 6-month contract opportunity with a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Perform month-end duties such as journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis against actuals.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for internal stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
- Monitor and manage the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations.
- Assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required.
- Provide support in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
The ideal candidate will be ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or qualified by experience, with prior exposure in a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential. A strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are crucial for this role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently, are required.
