Financial Assistant/Management Accountant Opportunity

RM Recruit is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Assistant/Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time, 6-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  2. Perform month-end duties such as journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
  3. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis against actuals.
  4. Assist in the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  5. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  6. Prepare financial reports and summaries for internal stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
  7. Monitor and manage the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations.
  8. Assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as required.
  9. Provide support in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
