Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team at The Botanical Rooms, a luxurious restaurant located within The Newt in Somerset. As a Senior Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for leading our pastry team and creating exquisite desserts, bakery, and pastry items that showcase the best of high-end, contemporary British food.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the pastry team, ensuring exceptional standards of food quality and presentation
  • Develop and implement new pastry and dessert menus, utilizing fresh ingredients from our estate and local suppliers
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create innovative and delicious desserts, bakery, and pastry items
  • Ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and professional growth
  • Assist in inventory management, ordering, and maintaining quality control of pastry ingredients

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar senior pastry role, preferably within a high-end restaurant or luxury establishment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pastry and dessert techniques, including sugar and chocolate
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high standards of food knowledge
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and motivate a kitchen team
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining your professionalism and team cohesion
