Company Overview

Salt has partnered with a rapidly expanding cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) compliance business that is embarking on an ambitious 2-year growth strategy.

Having achieved profitability, they are looking to expand their Product Design function by hiring a Product Design Specialist to enhance their design capabilities.

Job Summary

As a Product Design Specialist, you will report directly to the Head of Product Design, with responsibilities spanning the entire Product Design Lifecycle, from conception and ideation, through to research and testing, and then on to delivery and iteration.

You will champion user-centric design, accessibility, and contribute to the development and maintenance of the design system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement user-centered design solutions that meet the needs of the business and its customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver software products that are intuitive, accessible, and meet the needs of the target audience.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and ensure that products meet the needs of the target audience.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across products.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design and apply this knowledge to improve design solutions.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally within a SaaS, data management, or compliance business.
  • Proficiency in Figma, with wireframing and prototyping experience.
  • Knowledge of user research and usability testing methodologies and techniques.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced start-up environment, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience contributing to and maintaining design systems.
  • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS) would be a plus.
