Position Overview:

As a member of the structural engineering team based in London, you will be involved in a captivating portfolio of projects across the UK. Your work will encompass a variety of sectors, including Residential, Leisure, Education, Industrial, Commercial, and Healthcare.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain greater independence and leverage your design and construction expertise.

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer with substantial experience in structural analysis, design, and project oversight. While chartered status is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of delivering intricate structural engineering projects from conception to completion. You will play a crucial role in leading design initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate autonomously and collaboratively within a team, providing innovative solutions.
  • Generate calculations, models, reports, and presentations of exceptional quality, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Conduct surveys and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for various projects, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to devise innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Effectively manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Chartered status with IStructE or ICE is ideal but not mandatory.
  • Strong design acumen and familiarity with British and European codes of practice.
  • Proficient in MasterSeries and TEDD software.
  • A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of pertinent design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
