Position Overview:
As a member of the structural engineering team based in London, you will focus on a captivating portfolio of projects throughout the UK. Your work will encompass a variety of sectors, including Residential, Leisure, Education, Industrial, Commercial, and Healthcare projects.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain greater independence and apply your design and construction expertise.
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer with substantial experience in structural analysis, design, and project oversight. While Chartership is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of successfully delivering intricate structural engineering projects from conception to completion. You will be instrumental in leading design initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the effective execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate both independently and within a team to provide innovative solutions.
- Generate calculations, models, reports, and presentations that meet high standards, delivered punctually and within budget.
- Conduct surveys and compile comprehensive reports.
- Perform structural analysis and design for various projects, ensuring adherence to applicable codes and standards.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
- Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to devise creative and cost-effective design solutions.
- Effectively manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
Required Skills:
- Chartership status with IStructE or ICE is ideal but not mandatory.
- Strong design acumen and familiarity with British and European codes of practice.
- Proficiency in MasterSeries and TEDD software.
- A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
- Excellent communication and writing abilities.
- Thorough understanding of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE).
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
