Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Ophthalmic Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and flexible Ophthalmic Nurse to join our bank team at Spire Elland Hospital. As a member of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

About the Role

  • As an Ophthalmic Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring that standards of patient care are consistently maintained at all times, in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures.
  • You will promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees, and visitors.
  • You will assist Senior Staff in their management of clinical departments and provide effective leadership and management in their absence.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration with no restrictions.
  • Previous experience in ophthalmology is essential.
  • Competence across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of the physiology of the eye and related ophthalmic conditions.
  • Ability to perform ophthalmic preassessment and specialized testing such as IOL calculations, OCT, visual fields, etc.
  • Application of clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes.
  • Possession of Equipment and Medical Devices Competences.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
