Cloud 9 Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent provider of packaging solutions seeking to hire a Safety and Compliance Coordinator.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, overseeing three facilities in the North East, with a focus on comprehensive health and safety evaluations, performing risk assessments, and documenting enhancements through actionable plans.

We invite applications from individuals with a background in manufacturing, particularly in health, safety, and environmental roles.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of two designated facilities.
  • Conduct and review regular risk assessments, develop action plans, and report on enhancements and solutions.
  • Collaborate with site management to assist in and advise on the completion of planned actions.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging legislation, ensuring knowledge is up-to-date.
  • Conduct safety, health, environmental, and quality inspections, contributing to the development of related policies.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory regulations and policies, cooperating with authorities during investigations.
  • Report any deviations from company policies and procedures.
  • Support and advise site management teams on safety matters, investigating incidents and accidents, and providing recommendations along with detailed reports.
  • Ensure all documentation related to incidents or accidents is accurately completed.
  • Participate in SHEQ meetings, taking and distributing minutes.
  • Provide training to management team members on safe operating procedures.
  • Attend shift briefings and work late or night shifts as necessary.
  • Ensure regular company checks are conducted.
  • Take charge of internal and external site tours.
  • Perform inspections and audits within workshops and company offices, assisting in gathering relevant information for external auditors.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a consistent approach across UK facilities.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Possession of IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Willingness to pursue and obtain the NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Proficient in utilizing auditing tools.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to foster strong customer relationships.
  • Adept at influencing others.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Flexible and able to work independently.
  • Professional demeanor and well-presented.

Compensation:
