About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our dynamic team at Southwark Council. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective credit control operations across the council.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Credit Control Function: Ensure timely and accurate processing of credit notes and refunds, maintaining a seamless experience for our customers.
  2. Debt Recovery: Undertake debt recovery processes diligently to maximize council income, contributing to the financial health of our community services.
  3. Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions, ensuring the council's financial stability.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in credit control or a similar financial role.
  2. Deep understanding and knowledge of credit control procedures and systems.
  3. Knowledge of public sector finance, including Local Authority accounting.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle face-to-face and telephone queries.
  5. Ability to provide clear guidance on credit control matters and support system users.
