Children's Home Deputy Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Children's Home Deputy Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that provides domestic, learning, and life support for young people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manager in implementing all young people's placements, including their development, monitoring, and review. This will ensure that they are fully supported emotionally and mentally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the manager in managing the day-to-day running of the home in line with the Care Standards Act.
  • Provide support to young people with life skills and education.
  • Take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements.
  • Protect the young people from risks to their health, welfare, and development inside and outside of the home.
  • Provide effective leadership and team development and support.
  • Liaise with inter-agencies.
  • Oversee staff training and qualifications.
  • Manage the home's expenditure and petty cash.
  • Ensure a safe environment with regular property checks in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Be aware of safeguarding at all times.
  • Participate in the on-call rota when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 in Children and Young People.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience within a children's residential home sector.
  • Minimum of 2 years' children's home senior experience.
  • Experience of working with complex and emotional behavioral needs in young people.
  • Understanding of the current Ofsted inspection framework.
  • Knowledge of current governing legislation and procedures for caring for children.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively.
Salary and Benefits:

£28,000 per annum plus sleep-in payments.
