We are seeking a highly experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Siamo Group, a leading organization in the care sector. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management team in implementing the care plans for young people, ensuring their emotional and mental well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with the Care Standards Act.
- Provide guidance and support to young people in developing life skills and education.
- Take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements, ensuring the home meets the highest standards of care.
- Protect young people from risks to their health, welfare, and development, both within and outside the home.
- Provide effective leadership and support to the team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and qualifications to deliver high-quality care.
- Liaise with external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
- Oversee staff training and qualifications, ensuring the team is equipped to meet the needs of young people.
- Manage the home's expenditure and petty cash, ensuring financial transparency and accountability.
- Ensure a safe environment, conducting regular property checks in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Be aware of safeguarding at all times, taking prompt action to address any concerns.
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing 24/7 support to the team and young people.
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a children's residential home sector.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior role within a children's home.
- Experience working with complex and emotional behavioral needs in young people.
- Understanding of the current Ofsted inspection framework.
- Knowledge of current governing legislation and procedures for caring for children.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively.
Salary and Benefits:
£28,000 per annum, plus sleep-in payments.
