Position Overview

As we strive to redefine mobile banking, we are looking for a skilled Lead Software Engineer to guide a dedicated team of engineers within our International Consumer Bank division. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of banking while making a significant impact on our customers' experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical components within the Invest Tribe at Chase UK.

• Manage an engineering squad by establishing clear objectives, fostering professional growth, and enhancing the team's delivery capabilities.

• Oversee the execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timely delivery while addressing dependencies and resolving obstacles.

• Collaborate with Product teams to co-own a range of end-to-end technical and customer use cases, encompassing user journeys and back-office functionalities.

• Work alongside peers in the Product team to create a strategic roadmap that aligns with business goals, manages technical debt, and supports operational teams.

• Partner with Technical Leads and Principal Engineers to devise robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.

• Establish delivery ceremonies and maintain a strong agile workflow, measuring and enhancing the team's performance.

• Employ a data-driven approach to establish and monitor metrics related to delivery, system health, and customer journeys.

• Promote an inclusive culture of high-quality engineering within your team and across the organization, implementing best practices and striving for excellence in engineering standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Formal training or certification in team management concepts, along with extensive experience in the field.

• Strong team player with a solid technical background, dedicated to achieving optimal outcomes through collaboration with peers.

• Business-oriented mindset, capable of understanding product requirements and devising effective engineering solutions.

• Innovative thinker, willing to challenge existing processes to expedite the achievement of business objectives.

• Significant experience with JVM languages and expertise in automating deployment, releases, and testing within continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

• Proven experience in designing and managing microservices utilizing Cloud technology and event-driven architectures.

• Strong leadership qualities, focused on acquiring, retaining, and developing talent to create a highly effective delivery team.
