About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our team at Peterborough City Council. As an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will work within our Older People Mental Health Service, covering the Peterborough City Council area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including Community Psychiatric Nurses, Doctors, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Support Workers, and Peer Support Workers.
  • Provide support to adults, focusing on their strengths and assets, and working in a collaborative way with them, their carers, and partner agencies to meet their needs.
  • Link with acute inpatient and Community Rehabilitation and Treatment Teams (CRHTT) services to ensure timely and effective discharge back into the community.
  • Apply a social perspective to your work, keeping social care issues current in your practice to promote independence and recovery.
  • Participate in the training of new Social Workers through our links with Universities and work as a Practice Educator.

Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act (and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards).
  • Ability to apply a social perspective to your work and keep social care issues current in your practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
