About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Division Software Engineer Vice President to join our team at Goldman Sachs Bank AG. As a key member of our Risk Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in driving the build and adoption of common tools, platforms, and applications that support our risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large-scale, computationally intensive risk calculations using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark and HDFS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize risk management projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain software applications that support risk management processes, including data extraction, visualization, and reporting.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand risk management requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
  • Lead and mentor junior technical team members in software development best practices and risk management methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in risk management and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our risk management capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience working in a risk technology team in a financial institution, with a strong background in software development and risk management.
  • Experience with major relational/object databases, data visualization tools, and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles, including design, code review, and production migrations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex risk management problems and develop effective solutions.
