Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Early Years Department

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Early Years department of a Mainstream Primary School in Northumberland. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and experience working with children aged 0-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education to children in the Early Years department
  • Assist with planning and preparation of lessons, including setting up activities and resources
  • Work with children on a 1:1 or small group basis to support their learning and development
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective communication and teamwork

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Recent experience working with children aged 0-5 years
  • Motivating and supportive presence towards children
  • Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Encouraging attitude towards students with varying needs
