About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer IV antibiotics to patients and train them to self-administer at home
  • Assess and coordinate the care of patients requiring nurse-administered antibiotics at home or in the OPAT clinic
  • Act as a liaison point for OPAT patients and their carers throughout their treatment journey
  • Liaise with community staff to monitor patient progress and provide support as needed
  • Participate in the nurse-led skin and soft tissue infection service
  • Provide vascular access advice and troubleshooting across the trust
  • Contribute to education and audit of OPAT services, invasive line care, and management

Requirements

  • Vascular access interest/experience and 3 years' experience in an acute setting
