About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our dedicated Catering Team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food services that meet the diverse needs of our children, young people, and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive menus that cater to individual dietary needs and preferences.
  • Liaise with our Care Team to ensure that special diets are met, considering cultural, religious, and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to HACCP and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Prepare fresh meals from scratch using high-quality ingredients, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
  • Collaborate with our team to provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Safety & Hygiene.
  • Experience in managing a kitchen, with a strong understanding of Food Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to prepare fresh meals from scratch, with evidence of knowledge in catering for special diets.
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Food Safety & Hygiene or working towards this qualification, experience in catering for events, and knowledge of allergies and intolerances.
