Electrical Systems Engineer

Meritus is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract to work on exciting new defence projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform electrical and functional tests on spacecraft subsystems, including power, comms, data handling, and system control.
  • Write and execute electrical integration procedures to verify and connect equipment during spacecraft build.
  • Interpret electrical, functional, and system test requirements from test specifications.
  • Provide test solutions to meet test specification requirements, from planning to execution.
  • Close out tests with Post Test Review and Test Report.
  • Provide technical inputs to project test reviews.
  • Develop and debug Automatic Test procedures (ATP).
  • Prepare and execute spacecraft system investigations.
  • Support spacecraft systems functional and performance tests during environmental testing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Current hands-on experience of writing test sequences/scripts for spacecraft tests.
  • Test sequence writing and debugging in a bespoke language.
  • Competent in the use of various test equipment for electrical measurements.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and overall system.
  • Knowledge and experience of spacecraft systems and subsystem testing.
  • Working knowledge of Satellite TMTC Databases.
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems.

Desirable:

  • Programming and scripting languages, particularly writing and debugging Linux/Unix bash scripts.
  • Knowledge of a programming language such as C, Java, Python, TCL, VBA.
