Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for missile and launcher systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Specify and determine system electrical requirements and interface definitions.
  2. Define power architecture, including power budget and power profiles.
  3. Develop data communication and processing architecture requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening.
  4. Ensure signal safety, including routing of safety-related signals.
  5. Support test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration.
  6. Review and author reports, guidelines, and processes.
  7. Design assessments and analysis.
  8. Work to defence/industry standards.
  9. Attend and support design reviews.

Requirements:

  1. Technical experience in electrical/electronics interface definitions.
  2. Knowledge of defence/industry standards.
  3. Degree-level qualification in a related subject.
  4. Systems engineering writing reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Defence weapon systems.
  2. Power supplies.
  3. Actuators.
  4. Data communication.
  5. Sensors.
  6. EMC.
  7. Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS).
  8. Model Based Engineering (MBE).

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £60ph and a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Our team is based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, and we offer a hybrid working arrangement with a mix of working from home and onsite.
