Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our exceptional National Careers Service Team as either a trainee or a qualified Careers Adviser. If you have a passion for assisting others, this role may be a perfect fit for you. Ideal candidates may come from backgrounds in sales, education, or recruitment, or possess experience in providing career guidance while thriving in a target-driven environment. We value engaging personalities that create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our clients.

Flexibility is key, as each day presents unique challenges within the National Careers Service. As a Careers Adviser, you will ensure that clients feel welcomed and at ease during their visits. Your ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences will be essential. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one appointments and group workshops in various settings, such as career fairs and community venues. Strong organizational skills are necessary to manage your schedule and complete administrative tasks, along with confidence in using technology for both delivery and administrative duties.

Your expertise will empower clients to create personalized career action plans, supporting their learning and development while monitoring their progress to build confidence on their journey toward employment or further education.

We offer comprehensive on-the-job training and support to help you achieve your Level 4 Certificate in Careers Information and Guidance if you do not already possess this qualification.

Compensation and Benefits

In recognition of your commitment and expertise, we provide a competitive salary range of £26,000 - £29,545 per annum for qualified individuals or £23,088 - £24,500 per annum for those unqualified, along with an attractive benefits package:

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and strive to exceed personal performance targets
  • Provide customized support in all aspects of career management and progression
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the labor market to offer relevant advice on local job sectors and opportunities
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to maximize referrals and opportunities
  • Facilitate group sessions with clients in various settings, including career events and job fairs
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum Level 4 qualification in Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance
  • Strong knowledge of the local labor market in the specified geographical areas
  • Experience in a target-driven environment
  • Familiarity with the Careers/Employability industry
  • Understanding of the recruitment sector
  • Experience in providing 'information, advice & guidance' to individuals
  • Full driving license for travel across specified geographical areas when necessary
