Division Overview:

The Landing Gear Division focuses on the design, qualification, manufacturing, and repair of landing gears and critical flight components, serving a diverse clientele that includes Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and operators in both commercial and military sectors.

Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams, conducting inspections of components throughout the production process and at final stages.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop, manage, and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with AS2 standards.

• Ensure adherence to regulations set by governing bodies.

• Follow departmental procedures, including technique sheets and standard operating protocols.

• Verify product conformity.

• Conduct visual inspections of components against technical drawings.

• Perform various types of inspections, including incoming, first-off, and final inspections.

• Utilize hand measuring tools to confirm parts meet drawing specifications.

• Employ CMMs and scanning arms for component inspections as necessary.

• Support production needs as an integral member of the inspection team.

• Communicate with other departments regarding product conformity issues as required.

• Strong expertise in Quality Inspection, Metrology, and CMM operations.

• Experience inspecting machined components in high-stakes industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Motorsport, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Petrochemical.

• Ability to interpret CMM reports.

• Proficient in self-inspecting parts using manual measuring tools like micrometers, verniers, calipers, and gauges.

• Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

• Collaborate with relevant departments to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance processes.

• Conduct dimensional, visual, and documentation inspections on incoming and outgoing products.

• Participate in Root Cause Failure Mode analyses.

• Document any product quality issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

Essential Attributes:

• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to function effectively as part of a team.

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach.

• Willingness to acquire new skills through on-the-job training.

• Familiarity with AS2 standards.
Desirable Attributes:

• Experience in an aerospace manufacturing setting.

• Background as a final inspector in a manufacturing environment.

• Solid experience in Quality Inspection, Metrology, and CMM operations.

• Capability to operate CMMs and/or Faro Arms; experience with PC-DMIS or similar software is advantageous.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing context, ideally within a process-oriented environment adhering to BSI standards.
