An exciting opportunity has emerged to enhance the Vascular Nursing Specialist team.
We are seeking a qualified nurse eager to broaden their expertise in Vascular Surgery.
The successful candidate will possess vascular experience, operating within their professional scope, and providing exceptional care in both elective and emergency situations for arterial and venous patients throughout the vascular network.
They will exhibit a high degree of skill and knowledge, progressing towards independent practice through clinical decision-making, including assessment and diagnostic capabilities for patients undergoing surgical procedures and those with chronic vascular issues requiring specialized management.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting comprehensive wound evaluations and treatments.
Delivering evidence-based, pertinent information to patients and their families, both verbally and in writing, tailored to the individual assessment of the patient's personal and healthcare needs.
Operating within the outpatient environment.
Educating fellow colleagues.

Job Duties
To provide proficient assessment of patients with peripheral arterial disease in the outpatient setting, which includes taking clinical histories, performing physical assessments, requesting relevant investigations and tests, and interpreting and acting on results promptly.
To autonomously consult (initially with support) both new and follow-up patients with peripheral arterial disease, venous disease, and complex wounds in the outpatient setting or via telephone consultations across the network.
To demonstrate extensive knowledge and skills in various clinical procedures, including patient examination and assessment, Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI), Toe-Brachial Index (TBI), and complex wound evaluations.
To possess a solid understanding of complex wound assessments and maintain up-to-date knowledge of suitable dressings and wound management strategies.
