We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Officer to join our Academic Support Team at INTO Queen\u2019s University Belfast. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital technical support to staff and students, ensuring seamless access to the latest hardware and software.

As an IT Technical Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting systems, supporting interactive teaching technology, and assisting with academic timetabling. You will also ensure compliance with GDPR regulations and handle IT queries in person, via phone, and through MS Teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality technical support to staff and students, ensuring efficient use of software and hardware.
  • Install, maintain, and update computer systems and applications to meet defined standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues that impact teaching, minimising disruptions in the learning environment.
  • Support the use of Canvas (VLE) and assist academic staff with module management.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, licenses, and IT tasks, ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Lead IT training sessions for staff and assist in onboarding new employees with system demonstrations.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in technical support and system maintenance
  • Familiarity with software like Canvas (VLE) and hardware like Dell and Clevertouch
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to technical issues
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service, with the ability to assist users of varying skill levels
