Position Overview

The NORTH DEVON DISTRICT COUNCIL is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated professional to deliver a comprehensive arboricultural service. This role is integral to the Environmental Enhancement Service, focusing on the stewardship of municipal tree populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the council's tree inventory.
  • Provide expert advice to the Planning Department regarding tree-related matters, including the evaluation of Tree Protection Order (TPO) applications.
  • Advise on trees located in conservation zones and landscaping plans for new developments.
  • Collaborate with the internal Parks Team and Sustainability Officer, as well as external stakeholders, to formulate and implement a strategic vision for tree management in North Devon.

This position encompasses a full-time commitment of 37 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend duties.
