Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated professional to deliver a comprehensive arboricultural service for the council.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our dynamic Environmental Enhancement Service, you will oversee all aspects concerning the council's tree inventory. Additionally, you will play a crucial advisory role to the Planning Department on tree-related matters, including:

  • Assessment and recommendations regarding Tree Protection Order (TPO) applications
  • Guidance on trees located in conservation areas
  • Consultation on landscaping plans for new developments

Located in the North Devon district, which is recognized for its UNESCO Biosphere status and stunning coastal landscapes, you will collaborate closely with our internal Parks Team and Sustainability Officer, as well as various external stakeholders. Your role will involve shaping and directing our strategic initiatives related to trees in North Devon, aligning with national, regional, and local policies, as well as the council's broader environmental goals.

Working Conditions

This position entails a commitment of 37 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of occasional weekend duties.

Candidate Profile
