The NORTH DEVON DISTRICT COUNCIL is seeking a qualified professional to deliver a comprehensive arboricultural service. This role is integral to the Environmental Enhancement Service, focusing on the management of municipal tree resources and offering essential guidance to the Planning Department regarding tree-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

As an Arboricultural Officer, your duties will include:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the council's tree inventory.
  • Providing expert advice on Tree Protection Order (TPO) applications.
  • Consulting on trees located in conservation areas.
  • Reviewing landscaping proposals associated with new developments.
Collaboration and Strategy

You will collaborate closely with the internal Parks Team and Sustainability Officer, as well as engage with external stakeholders to formulate and implement a strategic vision for tree management in North Devon. This strategy will align with national, regional, and local environmental initiatives.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment of 37 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend duties.

Candidate Profile
