Position Overview

Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is seeking to recruit 2 Facilities Maintenance Technicians to enhance our dedicated multi-disciplinary maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring a secure and functional environment for all service users, staff, and visitors across our various sites.

Key Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will assist skilled tradespeople across various disciplines and, under the guidance of the Maintenance Services Works Officers, will execute scheduled and routine maintenance as well as minor repair tasks on a range of engineering equipment.

Responsibilities encompass both domestic and specialized commercial aspects of electrical, mechanical, building, and grounds maintenance.

Job Duties

Responsibilities and Expectations

The successful candidate will be tasked with performing scheduled and routine maintenance on various engineering equipment, following appropriate training, or assisting skilled tradespeople with these duties.

You will also be responsible for executing essential repair tasks and managing daily defect work as directed by the Works Officers, ensuring a competent level of service following necessary training.

Participation in the Maintenance Services on-call roster may be required, allowing for emergency repairs and ensuring business continuity at all times.

Additional responsibilities include assisting skilled tradespeople with minor installations and alterations, as well as participating in snow clearing and gritting operations during adverse weather conditions.

You will also undertake Service Level Agreement work for other NHS organizations and private clients, ensuring compliance with their requirements and accurately completing all necessary documentation.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Essential

  • A valid UK driving license to operate Trust vehicles.

Desirable

  • Qualifications such as C&G, NVQ, or BTEC in mechanical, electrical, or building fields.
  • PMA Training.

Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a mechanical, electrical, or building field, demonstrating versatility and adaptability.
  • Practical experience in general maintenance tasks.

Desirable

  • Experience working within mental health and secure services environments.
