About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Technologist to join our Radiation Physics team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing radiation protection services, particularly in the areas of personal dosimetry, environmental monitoring, x-ray and ultrasound quality control, and monitor calibration.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on radiation protection in healthcare and academic research environments.
  • Conduct personal dosimetry services, environmental monitoring, and x-ray and ultrasound quality control.
  • Calibrate and test imaging and monitoring equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement radiation protection protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of radiation protection services.
Requirements
  • HND or equivalent in Engineering or Physical Science.
  • Good (1st or 2nd class) Honours Degree in Physics or physics-related subject.
  • MSc in physics or physics-related subject.
  • Registration as Clinical Technologist or Member of IPEM / SRP / BIR.
Desirable Skills
  • Practical experience in radiation protection, ultrasound, or diagnostic radiology.
  • Experience in the calibration and testing of imaging and monitoring equipment.
  • Specialized knowledge of contamination monitoring equipment.
  • Broad knowledge of medical imaging device operation and QA testing protocols.
