Clinical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Technologist to join our Radiation Physics team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing radiation protection services, particularly in the areas of personal dosimetry, environmental monitoring, x-ray and ultrasound quality control, and monitor calibration.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance on radiation protection in healthcare and academic research environments.
- Conduct personal dosimetry services, environmental monitoring, and x-ray and ultrasound quality control.
- Calibrate and test imaging and monitoring equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and implement radiation protection protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of radiation protection services.
- HND or equivalent in Engineering or Physical Science.
- Good (1st or 2nd class) Honours Degree in Physics or physics-related subject.
- MSc in physics or physics-related subject.
- Registration as Clinical Technologist or Member of IPEM / SRP / BIR.
- Practical experience in radiation protection, ultrasound, or diagnostic radiology.
- Experience in the calibration and testing of imaging and monitoring equipment.
- Specialized knowledge of contamination monitoring equipment.
- Broad knowledge of medical imaging device operation and QA testing protocols.
