About the Role

The Service Engineer is a customer-facing position that requires excellent communication, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of customer care and company systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of work allocated to them, reporting back as directed by company procedures, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize PDA software to obtain tasks and ensure timely completion
  • Communicate with customers regarding ETA and any delays
  • Conduct visual risk assessments on each job as required
  • Provide feedback on parts used and ensure pre-payment for end-users
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, discussing recommendations, service plans, and upgrade options with customers
  • Perform monthly stock takes on van stock or stored stock
  • Participate in on-the-job training and personal development courses as directed by the line manager
  • Seek office involvement for unforeseen costs and ensure company property and vehicles are maintained

Essential Criteria

  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience or proof of electrical competence
  • Physical fitness to perform job requirements, with a potential medical examination
  • Clean driving license and willingness to undergo a driving license check
  • Experience working in a similar role or environment
  • Proficiency in MS products and PDA reporting systems or service-based reporting packages
  • Proven ability to fault-find in demanding environments

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in the wastewater or water industry
  • Experience with sewage treatment and pump stations
  • Knowledge of Kingspan and other manufacturers' wastewater products

Working Conditions

This role requires a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, with overtime available. The successful candidate will cover postcodes PO and BN areas.
