Paediatric Physiotherapy Specialist for Children with Special Educational Needs

Position Overview
As a key member of Provide's integrated children and family services, you will deliver a thorough physiotherapy program tailored for children aged from birth to 25 years who exhibit developmental challenges.
Your role will involve collaborating with children and their families in various environments, including their residences, educational institutions, and community settings. The SEND team is tasked with fulfilling the therapy hours specified in the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) as mandated by local authorities.
Our physiotherapy team is composed of dynamic, seasoned professionals who are dedicated to providing support.
Core Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Conducting assessments for children with diverse neurodevelopmental disorders, establishing key therapeutic objectives, and implementing effective intervention strategies.
- Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team within Provide and external partners, such as educational institutions, to support the child and their family.
- Identifying safeguarding issues and participating in relevant safeguarding protocols.

Job Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments and implementing treatment plans utilizing your specialized knowledge and experience.
- Analyzing and interpreting clinical findings through effective clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Employing outcome measures to assess treatment efficacy and making necessary adjustments.
- Setting measurable and achievable functional goals, involving the child, their family, and the broader multi-disciplinary team when possible.
- Utilizing advanced therapeutic handling techniques to provide physiotherapy to a diverse patient population.
- Assessing and coordinating the provision of specialized equipment as needed.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience as a physiotherapist.
- Experience working with children.
- Post-graduate experience in treating neurological conditions.
- Ability to drive and access a vehicle.
- Proficiency in IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
- Clear and concise written communication skills in English.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Post-graduate experience in pediatric physiotherapy.
- Experience in supervising staff.
- Relevant post-graduate training.
- Experience with virtual consultations.
Essential Registration:
- HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
