Position Overview

As a vital member of Provide's integrated children and family services, you will deliver a holistic physiotherapy service tailored for children aged from birth to 25 years who exhibit developmental challenges.

Your role will involve engaging with children and their families in various environments, including their residences, educational institutions, and community settings across Mid-Essex. The SEND team is tasked with fulfilling the therapy hours specified in the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) as mandated by Essex County Council.

Our physiotherapy professionals are enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated to supporting families.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting assessments for children with diverse neurodevelopmental disorders, establishing key therapeutic objectives, and designing as well as implementing treatment plans.
  • Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team within Provide and external partners, such as educational institutions, to support the child and their family.
  • Identifying safeguarding issues and participating in safeguarding protocols as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Executing assessments and implementing treatment strategies utilizing your specialized knowledge and expertise.
  • Analyzing and interpreting clinical data through clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Employing outcome measures to assess treatment efficacy and making necessary adjustments.
  • Setting realistic and measurable functional goals, involving the child, their family, and the broader multi-disciplinary team whenever feasible.
  • Utilizing advanced therapeutic handling techniques to provide physiotherapy to a diverse patient population.
  • Assessing and coordinating the provision of specialized equipment as required.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience as a physiotherapist.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Post-graduate experience in treating neurological conditions.
  • Ability to drive and access a vehicle.
  • Proficient IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Clear and concise written communication skills in English.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate experience in pediatric physiotherapy.
  • Experience in supervising staff.
  • Relevant post-graduate training.
  • Experience with virtual consultations.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
