Position Summary:
We are seeking a proficient Geotechnical and Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is pivotal in managing a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and environmental projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing a variety of geotechnical and environmental projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Engaging in proactive project management, maintaining effective communication with clients, and providing innovative technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Conducting site evaluations and client meetings, which may involve travel.
Project Management:
As a consultant, you will:
- Organize and manage intrusive investigations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while directing subcontractors and site operations.
- Perform trial pitting, soakage testing, and soil logging in accordance with industry standards.
- Deliver a consultative approach, advising clients and stakeholders on engineering solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive Phase 1 Desk Studies and, when necessary, Flood Risk Assessments.
- Conduct Phase 2 intrusive investigations, including data collection and report writing, while preparing factual and interpretative reports.
- Execute qualitative and quantitative contamination risk assessments.
- Support specialized projects under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
- Contribute to the growth and development of JP Engineering.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Geo/Environmental Science, Soil Mechanics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of relevant industry experience in geotechnical or environmental engineering.
- Experience in the UK regulatory and design environment.
- Proficiency in managing projects independently.
- Familiarity with geotechnical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A full, clean UK driving license.
