This position offers a specialised and confidential administrative service within the medical education sector. As part of a dedicated team of four administrators, the role involves coordinating essential components of the medical student curriculum. Responsibilities include supporting examinations conducted at affiliated hospitals. Each administrator will oversee specific areas under the guidance of the consultant lead for their specialty, which encompasses Core Clinical Education, Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and more. Collaboration and teamwork are vital, especially during periods of absence.
The team ensures a comprehensive training experience for medical students as they rotate through various healthcare facilities. Additionally, the post holders will collaborate closely with other administrative personnel within the Medical Education department to maintain smooth operations in accordance with departmental and national standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Administer a designated segment of the clinical placement activities for the medical school, which includes:
- Organising Bedside Teaching sessions
- Collaborating with Consultant Block Leads to develop schedules for Core Clinical Education and various specialty teachings
- Managing examination logistics across all years
- Facilitating revision blocks, electives, and projects
- Overseeing assistantships as students transition to junior doctor roles
- Maintaining responsibility for specific timetables while ensuring compliance with established standards
- Addressing student inquiries regarding timetables and access to facilities
- Demonstrating flexibility to provide cross-cover and support the entire medical education administration team.
