Role Summary:

We are in search of a highly proficient Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Smart Metering who will oversee the Smart Metering, Project Management, and Web Application Development teams at HCLTech's Smart Meter Test Lab. This position encompasses multiple responsibilities, including Project Management, Development Leadership, and Smart Meter Expertise. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in smart metering, showcasing a solution-oriented mindset, enhancing testing capabilities, and evolving smart meter technologies. A results-driven individual with exceptional stakeholder management and problem-solving skills is essential for driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Smart Meter SME within the Smart Meter Test Lab.
  • Oversee end-to-end operations of the Smart Meter Lab as a Triage/Technical Specialist.
  • Design, develop, test, and manage the deployment of integrated lab management solutions on AWS cloud.
  • Coordinate with the lab operations team, development team, and management to ensure compliance with established processes and policies.
  • Manage network operations by designing the lab network, performing maintenance tasks, and configuring security updates.
  • Adapt to organizational needs and emerging technologies with technical expertise and analytical skills.
  • Review documentation and customer reports, representing HCLTech in technical and management meetings.
  • Support customer innovation initiatives and engage in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Establish proof of concept and drive business expansion projects.
  • Lead a significant customer program focused on System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Integration Testing (UIT).
  • Collaborate with service providers to ensure interoperability of 3G/4G solutions with smart meters.
  • Oversee System Integration Testing, User Integration Testing, and defect resolution.
  • Contribute to the advancement of the Smart Meter Lab.
  • Maintain the lab's radio environment to meet testing requirements.
  • Engage with clients to analyze business needs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare knowledge maps and manage knowledge transitions within the team.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of WAN, HAN, Zigbee, and mesh networks.
  • Experience in Project Management within the UK Smart Metering sector.
  • Familiarity with smart metering standards, network operations, and NB-IoT implementation.
  • Experience in managing development projects and testing life cycles, including Agile-SCRUM methodologies.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as React, JavaScript, and AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with Python development and automation testing.
  • Expertise in testing Smart Electricity Meters and Communication Hub Antenna Structures.
  • Skills in configuring network devices and managing firewall rules.
  • AWS certification and experience in resource management on AWS.
  • Proven experience in overseeing test labs for radio product validation.
  • Knowledge of 4G/LTE architecture and protocols.
  • Familiarity with tools for protocol analysis and traffic generation.

Work Environment:

  • This role requires onsite presence with no remote work options.
  • Work hours are flexible within an 8.5-hour window between 8 AM and 6 PM.
