About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Justice Subject Matter Expert to join our team at Smart Dental Care. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in procuring new NHS contracts in the Secure Settings, Justice, and General Health Care markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and write method statements in line with specification requirements, reflective of the budget and model devised.
  • Work with an external bid-writing company to ensure that high-quality, compelling bids are submitted on time.
  • Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that local intelligence is utilized to inform the strategy, complementing wider research and intelligence gleaned through strong and powerful networks.
  • Lead and support the development of ad-hoc, business opportunities when required, developing business cases that secure additional funding and upselling of our portfolio.
Requirements
  • Experience of having worked in Health and Justice NHS procurement team or having successfully completed bids for Health and Justice NHS Contracts is essential.
  • Strong nursing, pharmaceutical, or medical background is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce and present clear written reports and guidance, which interpret and effectively communicate/explain complex Health issues to a variety of internal and external clients.
  • Ability to present effectively to a range of different audiences, including the ability to respond confidently to questions when under pressure in a competitive environment.
  • Ability to research and present bid responses to create a library of bid materials.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to be flexible and exercise sound judgement and decision-making and give sound advice often within tight timescales.
  • Good numeracy skills that enable interpretation of business modelling to complete financial elements of bids.
  • Proven ability to undertake a diverse and demanding workload and deliver consistently high-quality work, using own initiative, confident prioritisation skills, and working to competing deadlines.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and navigate confidently through a variety of web-based procurement programmes.

At Smart Dental Care, we operate 35 practices and work more like a cooperative, encouraging dentists into leadership roles and eventually into ownership of their own practices. We offer training opportunities, including aligner courses, hands-on courses, and contribution to Post Graduate Courses. Our practices are run as individual communities, with local decisions made by individual Principal dentists and their managers. All Associates have the opportunity to become the Principal Dentist of their practice and ultimately become the owner of their own practice.
