Mental Health Practitioner for Children and Young People

This exciting opportunity is for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in the Primary Care Network (PCN) to support children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
The PCN provides primary care services across GP practices, and mental health is as important to children's and young people's safety and wellbeing as their physical health. We are finding more children presenting to practices who are struggling with their mental health and wellbeing, and we are building a unique team of people with a range of skills to provide a children and young people's mental health and wellbeing service across Halton's community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide interventions, advice, consultation, and supervision to colleagues and external partner agencies in line with THRIVE and clinical competency.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, and their families, and work collaboratively with other team members to enhance and develop the provision of services.
- Contribute to the development of best practice in the service by participating in regular supervision and appraisal, and maintaining awareness of current developments in the field.
- Participate in research, evaluation, and audit in response to clinical and professional interest, and monitor standards, quality, and consumer reaction to the provision of services in accordance with NICE guidance.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision, and contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice through active participation in internal and external CPD training.
- Registered Core Profession Social Work or Nurse with up-to-date professional registration.
- Qualification in at least one of the following areas: Individual or group Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-centred Counselling, Systemic Family Practice, Webster Stratton, Incredible Years/Parenting Groups.
- Degree or equivalent level of experience.
- Post-graduate or equivalent level of experience.
