Divisional Medical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional Medical Director to lead our Unplanned Care Division. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering high-quality, patient-centered medical specialty services. You will work closely with motivated and committed multi-professional teams to shape and influence system-wide strategy for care of patients with long-term conditions.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain high-quality patient-centered care
- Shared responsibility for day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning
- Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
- Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
- Active participation in continuing medical education
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leadership as a clinical director, assistant/deputy clinical director, or directorate/care group clinical lead. They will also have experience of effective budgetary management and control, supervising undergraduates, doctors in training, and other colleagues. Additionally, they will be able to offer and be accountable for full and independent expert diagnostic opinion and evidence leading on patient safety issues and achieving a change in practice.
Requirements- Entry on GMC Specialist Register or, be within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview or, provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register
- Primary Medical Degree
- Hold a substantive consultant contract
- Qualification in medical leadership, or to be in process of achieving this
