The Centre for Societal Engagement aims to ignite curiosity for science, technology, engineering, medicine, and business (STEMB) within society. This will be achieved by scaling and coordinating institutional collaborations, activities, and communications to drive societal impact locally, nationally, and globally.
As the Head of Business Development for Societal Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new funding and business opportunities to fuel this expansion. You'll join a team of dedicated public engagement and outreach professionals who have already laid a strong foundation for the Centre's success.
Your Responsibilities:- Develop strategically focused income-generating initiatives that align with the Centre's mission.
- Cultivate fruitful relationships with corporations, philanthropic organizations, and other key stakeholders across diverse sectors.
- Identify and target local, national, and international funding opportunities for societal engagement from industry sponsorships, foundations, and philanthropic sources.
- Deliver high-quality proposals for strategic, complex bids and large-scale awards that secure vital resources for the Centre.
- Collaborate effectively with Imperial's Advancement Division, Corporate Partnerships Team, and other relevant departments to ensure a cohesive and impactful approach to fundraising.
- Empower the Academic Partnerships Division by providing training and guidance on proposal writing and fundraising best practices, fostering an entrepreneurial culture within the team.
