Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our Safe Haven team. The Safe Haven provides an alternative to emergency room visits for individuals experiencing mental health crises, offering both in-person and virtual support. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can access the help they need during challenging times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate support to visitors attending the Safe Haven, both in person and virtually.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques and active listening skills to effectively engage with individuals and understand their needs.
  • Develop personalized safety plans for those experiencing suicidal ideation, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with GDPR and Information Governance guidelines.
  • Continuously assess the mental health needs of individuals and collaborate with partner agencies to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience working in a mental health setting is essential.
  • A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding legislation is required.
  • Experience delivering person-centered interventions related to mental health is highly valued.

Working Hours

This role requires evening shifts, including two or three shifts per week (6 PM - 11 PM) from Monday to Sunday. You must be available to work at least one shift over the weekend.
