Job Overview:

Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team in a vibrant and inclusive secondary school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of education during teacher absences by supervising and engaging students in pre-set work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Ensure students stay on task with pre-set activities, providing support where necessary and addressing any immediate issues or concerns.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership as required, implementing the school's behavior policies effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, with strong classroom management skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students, with adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic school environment.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to student welfare and achievement, with relevant qualifications or a willingness to undergo training.
