Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Schoen Clinic Newbridge. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality food services to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service:
    • Prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with our therapeutic menu and food hygiene standards.
    • Assist in the serving of meals to patients in our designated dining rooms.
    • Ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Prepare and provide food for patients with dietary restrictions and allergies.
    • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Ordering and Stock Control:
    • Manage the ordering and stock control of food supplies, ensuring that we have the necessary ingredients and equipment to meet our menu requirements.
    • Conduct daily stock takes and maintain accurate records of stock levels and ordering.
    • Ensure that all food supplies are stored and handled in accordance with food hygiene standards.
  • Kitchen Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure that our kitchen equipment is in good working order.
    • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the relevant authorities.
    • Conduct regular temperature checks and maintain accurate records of kitchen temperatures.
  • Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment:
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while working in the kitchen.
    • Ensure that all uniforms and aprons are clean and in good condition.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
    • Attend all mandatory training sessions and maintain accurate records of your training and development.
  • Communication and Confidentiality:
    • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
    • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant data protection policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Level 2 in food safety or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of special dietary needs, including religious and cultural requirements.
  • Awareness of good hygiene standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Previous experience of working with people with mental health issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and under pressure.
