About the Role

CleverHR is seeking a highly skilled Pensions Administrator to join our team. As a Pensions Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of SSAS schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer SSAS schemes, including telephone call recording, database updates, transaction entry, and scheme registration.
  • Process Pension Regulator registrations, renewals, and returns.
  • Draft scheme-specific deeds from templates.
  • Register for Legal Entity Identifiers and manage renewals.
  • Attend client meetings as necessary.
  • Perform benefit calculations, payment of PCLS and death benefits, transfers in/out, and scheme wind-ups.
  • Manage SSAS takeovers, including all aspects.
  • Submit HMRC Pension Scheme Returns.
  • Provide customer service, communicating effectively with clients, IFAs, solicitors, accountants, HMRC, investment providers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of pensions legislation as it applies to SSASs.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and AML requirements.
  • Assist Team Managers and colleagues with annual leave cover.

Administration of SIPPs:

  • Work closely with the SIPP Team Leader, Management, and Financial Consultants to deliver exceptional service to clients and their advisers.
  • Record all relevant work in the SIPP Pro Worklog, using appropriate task types and notes to reflect work undertaken and completion status.
  • Process contributions and transfers into existing SIPPs.
  • Monitor SIPP bank accounts to ensure funds are invested when necessary and sufficient cash is retained for fees, adviser remuneration, and income payments.
  • Process new investments, ensuring they are approved and permitted.
  • Arrange surrenders of investments as appropriate.
  • Assist team members with property and land purchases.
  • Manage rent reviews, lease expiries, and insurance renewals.
  • Prepare drawdown calculations according to internal procedures and guidelines.
  • Prepare SIPP asset valuations.
  • Administer a small scheme allocation with guidance to aid progression.
  • Attend regular team meetings and contribute feedback and ideas.
  • Monitor and update tasks personally allocated on the SIPP Pro Worklog.
