DCT Recruitment is in search of a skilled Senior Planning Consultant. Our client is a progressive and innovative planning consultancy dedicated to excellence and growth.


Position Overview:
The Senior Planning Consultant will be instrumental in the formation of a new office in Manchester. This role is suited for a seasoned expert with substantial experience in strategic planning, operational establishment, and stakeholder engagement.

The Senior Planning Consultant will offer direction and oversight to guarantee the successful initiation and operational efficiency of the new office.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:
  • Formulate a detailed strategy for the launch of the new office, encompassing timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Identify potential risks and devise mitigation strategies.

Operational Implementation:
  • Supervise the selection and setup of office premises, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with technology and facilities teams to ensure the office is equipped with essential technology and infrastructure.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for the new office establishment.
  • Represent the organization at local events and cultivate relationships with local business communities and networks.

Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensure all operations comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors regarding progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Recruitment and Team Development:
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of essential personnel for the new office.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative office culture that aligns with the company's values and mission.

Performance Evaluation:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of the new office.
  • Offer strategic insights and recommendations to continually enhance operations and performance.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership capacity, ideally with experience in establishing new offices or operational units.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the local business landscape in Manchester.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in managing planning inquiries and delivering comprehensive planning and development services to clients.
  • The role encompasses all stages of planning work, from the preparation and submission of fee proposals, initial assessments, to the preparation and submission of applications (of all types), planning appeals, and inquiries, including addressing planning inquiries and/or providing planning policy advice.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MRTPI accreditation.
  • Previous experience in a non-executive capacity.
