About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at River Tees Hospital School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Academy staff and Multi-Agencies to support pupil learning
  • Understand and implement teaching methods and assessment frameworks
  • Promote and reinforce pupils' self-esteem
  • Contribute to plans and bespoke programs as directed
  • Act as a learning mentor for a group of students
  • Support teachers in planning and preparation of lessons
  • Evaluate pupils' progress through assessment activities
  • Maintain and analyze records of pupils' progress
Requirements
  • Good standard of general education to Level 2 or equivalent
  • Commitment to HLTA or immediate commitment to do so
  • Experience of working with young people in education
  • Use of ICT to enhance children's learning
  • Ability to engage with young people exhibiting challenging behavior
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
