Position Overview

Mizuho International is seeking a dedicated professional to join our Risk Management Department as a Market Risk AVP. This role is essential in providing an independent evaluation of the risks associated with our operations and the revenue linked to these risks.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting daily market risk assessments for various trading desks within the Fixed Income and Equity sectors.
  • Generating regular reports that correlate risk metrics with profit and loss data, while identifying and communicating significant market risks.
  • Reviewing and analyzing exposure as part of our internal control processes.
  • Keeping the Front Office informed about the methodologies used to assess risk positions.
  • Actively participating in reviews of market risk methodologies and the current limit framework.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of stress testing scenarios and frameworks.
  • Performing ad-hoc transaction reviews and analyzing new products for Market Risk Management.
  • Engaging in initiatives to enhance our system infrastructure, ensuring a robust risk management framework.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a Market Risk role.
  • A strong understanding of the risks associated with financial products.
  • The ability to provide insightful analysis and commentary to trading teams.
  • Familiarity with risk measurement methodologies, particularly in Credit Markets.
  • Knowledge of derivative products and their associated risks.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and transformation.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, with basic knowledge of VBA, SQL, and Python.
